Water Justice Leadership Institute
As a member of the Oregon Water Futures Coalition (OWF), Verde is pivotal in advancing water justice through innovative initiatives. Leading the organization's communication efforts, I developed the branding for the groundbreaking Water Justice Leadership Institute (WJLI), a pioneering program spearheaded by Verde.
The WJLI represents a significant milestone as the first program of its kind, designed to empower community members and leaders to address water issues impacting Oregon and advocate for their communities effectively. Drawing inspiration from Verde's branding and the overarching aesthetics of OWF, I crafted a visually compelling identity for WJLI, utilizing vibrant blue tones to symbolize water and incorporating dynamic wave motifs and playful typography to create captivating imagery adaptable across all OWF coalition members.
Following the successful inaugural year of the program, I recognized the importance of showcasing its impact and significance. To achieve this, I conceived and created a compelling film featuring interviews with key stakeholders who brought the WJLI to fruition, emphasizing the power of storytelling to engage both our audience and funders effectively.
In celebration of the program's achievements and 18 Years of Verde, I organized the film premiere event at OMSI, bringing together participants, stakeholders, and community members for a panel discussion and screening of the film. This event provided a platform for participants to connect, reflect, and celebrate the success of the WJLI's inaugural year while fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the water justice movement.
